rt House on Somerset is easily one of the most charming and inspiring spots in Ottawa! Whether you are looking for a quiet place to get some work done or a cozy corner to catch up with a friend, this place delivers on every level. The atmosphere is truly unique, surrounded by incredible local art that makes the space feel vibrant and alive. One of the biggest draws for me is their excellent coffee options and high-quality drinks; their lattes are consistently perfect. Beyond the caffeine, they offer a great selection of yummy snacks and treats that are perfect for fueling a long study session.

Stopped by today and the place was absolutely packed — clearly a popular spot. I grabbed a classic latte and it was well made, smooth, and exactly what I needed. I’ll come back on a weekday when it’s a bit quieter to enjoy it properly.

Great coffee and atmosphere! Lots of seating and tables. There are different rooms, which are a bit sectioned off, so there feels like more privacy and it doesn't get too loud because of that. This is a good spot to sit and do some work, or catch up with a friend over coffee. Pictured are an iced vanilla latte, and a hot lavender latte (spring menu drink). The staff here are also great :)

We selected this cafe due to the availability of seating and the time of day; however, the pastries seemed stale, and the coffee mugs were not clean. The area was rather untidy, which, of course, explained the ample seating. I do not plan to return.
