Jacky's is, and I mean this with all my heart, one of the best food spots I've ever been to in my life. The warm, cozy, familial atmosphere is one thing, but the amazing food and drinks is another. Had some incredible beef stew noodle soup, some life-changing turnip cakes (lightly pan-fried with pieces of lap cheong inside!!), and the best HK style milk tea of my life. The adorable sugar-coated bear inside was just a cherry-on-top to an otherwise strong and flavourful tea. Got a polo bun to-go that wasn't too sweet and was a great snack for later. My mom and I are Chinese and we really enjoyed the food here at great prices! We visited this place twice in 24 hours! We specifically remembered this place to eat from when we visited Halifax 2 years ago! It compares to the quality and value of restaurants in Toronto, and is a very welcoming cafe! And I really enjoyed the beef stew with shrimp wonton noodle soup!

Close to downtown area and had a variety of options. I tried a few Hong Kong classics, curry beef tendon, pineapple bun with butter and iced milk tea. Firstly the curry was a bit different. The taste was something I haven't had before in a curry. Portion wise, it was ok. Not too big nor small. Milk tea was fairly rich in flavor. Was slightly disappointed by the pineapple bun. I perfer a crispy top, but it was a bit soft and chewy.

Greeted by a adorable little bird chirp of the motion censor along with friendly staff. Their home brew iced coffee has a teddy bear iced cube thats made with frozen coffee preventing it getting watered down at any point. Im a sucker for a crispy wonton and these were perfect. The rest of the meal was delicious and filling. Im not in the city often, but when I do, I look forward to coming here again.
