I brought up that I was allergic to walnuts to the staff. What do they bring to the table 2 minutes later as free entry snacks ? A sauce made with walnuts. No words. The worse it they warned me that I couldn’t eat that sauce. Don’t bring to the table anything that the client is deadly allergic to. Easy as that… The service wasn’t the best for the price. They don’t get rid of the useless plates for you so you need to organise your table by yourself (fun!). They also brought my food 10min after my friend got hers. Camel meat balls were good. The roasted chicken roll was good but the fact that it’s in a small bowl made it harder to eat.

Amazing experience, food, and decor! Our waiter, Hossam selim was very nice. Although our caramelized duck dish was very dry and hard to chew, the duck feteer appetizers were to die for, and the lamb fattah was so tender and flavourful. I also think they forgot to bring us our yoghurt salad that comes with the Fattah, but overall a positive experience.

Amazing place that we came across quite randomly but it was such a good choice! The food is truly amazing - we were welcomed by a great appetizer and juice to drink, then we had warm bread (amazing), eggplant paste, cauliflower duck soup (so delicious), camel kofta and date tarte - all remarkable! The atmosphere is so friendly and cozy, and Wahba was very kind, polite, and always smiling when serving! Definitely recommend 👌

Nice views over Old Cairo; this restaurant is on the rooftop of a hotel. The lift is very small and only fits 3 people, so you’re better off climbing the stairs. We had duck pie (460£), khshkhash kofta (410£), and also tried the frozen sahlab (110£)which is a local drink. Prices are reasonable for this kind of standard. The meat is good, especially the bbq and also served with a spicy dip which I enjoyed. The service recovery was also good, as the manager apologised for the delay in our food, when we noticed other tables which ordered later having their food already. He gave us some free tea at the end of the meal.

The restaurant was a bit of a let down. The reviews were good, but the food was nothing special, classic touristy food. The service was a bit careless (let’s say distracted). The views from the rooftop were lovely, but I was hoping for a better experience in terms of food. Personally, a disappointment for me.

A lot happens at this charming and refuge-like rooftop plus terrace restaurant at the top of the LeRiad Hotel. We stayed at the hotel and so sampled breakfast, lunch and dinner here and it’s a do not miss experience with lit minarets by night and pigeon flights in the evening to further highlight the 250 degrees of views of Old Cairo. The food is very good with plenty of typical dishes and do not miss the duck pie and pigeon soup. Service is very good, friendly and attentive. Best of you stay at the hotel or reserve well in advance. Live Music and whirling dervishes may be there for you depending on the evening.

An overpriced restaurant with quite atrocious service- the food was okish, we tried the hummus, cauliflower soup, duck pie, burglur camel kofta and date tart- didn't finish either of these though, as they were quite greasy and bland. Most of the time in this establishment was spent waiting, being ignored and observing staff quarrel between themselves. I would personally never return.
