There are two Indian restaurants with higher ratings, but the wait for a table was nearly two hours on a Wednesday night. I called and found that this one still had seats. I chose the classic butter chicken and Sabzi, which came with rice and salad. Naan needs to be ordered separately, which other restaurants should give, but fortunately it tasted good.

India House is one of the best restaurants I have been to. They clearly care about the quality of the food here. The samosa was very flavorful and unique. The fennel and cumin seeds were perfectly roasted lending to a deep flavor. The chicken madras was amazing - the roasted masala was extremely flavorful with a nuanced blend of flavors.

There are about 3-4 Indian restaurants in Braunchweig, out of which India House is the best one for its vegetarian food. The spices are authentic and proportion is adequate. It has affordable prices and warm hospitality. The people are warm and make an effort to make you comfortable. I would surely recommend it to any student or professional who is from India and is missing Indian food with Indian spices.

After having wonderful experience at Bollywood Chilli, I decided to try India House. But I didn't it like it as much, although I ordered some of the same dishes to draw comparative analysis. Here is what I ordered : 1) papad 2) plain Naan - this was so unlike naan. Thought they presented it beautifully but in terms of taste, feel, texture, chewiness, it stood nowhere close to what a traditional naan tastes like. Bollywood Chilli did much better job. 3) paratha - this was good, in terms of oiliness, color and taste, and they presented it well too, would love to reorder this :) 4) bhatura - di
