Ben’s Fischhütte is one of those places that has a lot of hype. It’s literally just a small shack on the harbour in Flensburg, and the line was huge when we were there. The food is good, no doubt, but not without flaws. The bread was toasted so much it was almost cutting up my mouth. I had one with fried fish and remoulade, and while the fish itself was nice, it needed way more salt. The other one I tried was fine, but nothing that really stuck with me. Service was a bit slow. We walked by and had a Matjes roll. Absolutely amazing and stunning. Super fresh with the right sauce homemade fresh apples and onions. (Stippe). The roll warmed up. Just get it.

Amazing Backfisch sandwich. The customer service was amazing—the gentlemen took extra care to explain the menu in English with a smile on his face. There was a line (as should be with a popular establishment), but absolutely worth the 5 minute wait while taking in the scenery. Also nice sitting areas on the docks. South African approved! ✅🇿🇦
