Basho-an is our favorite restaurant to eat at in Freiburg because it’s authentic with Japanese staff, ingredients like Wagyu & King Crab sourced directly from Japan. Last weekend we ate there 2 days in a row. First for dinner which is of course a bit pricier but with special offerings. - We started with MISO SOUP which is always a good idea here. Very delicious. - ABURI HOTATE (grilled scallops) salad which even our picky son loved. Lovely, atmospheric, Japanese restaurant with excellent, thoughtful service. Our servers were very professional and attentive. The food was excellent. It was the best sashimi I’ve had. I had a combo which was a hot dish with a cold dish so I chose chicken teriyaki (perfectly cooked and juicy) with Sashimi (very large slices.) it included a salad and miso soup. This is a real deal Japanese restaurant. It is pricey but you get quality across the board and I can’t recommend it enough.

Overall its a quite good place, would recommend to visit once :) Quality of the food were good and the portions weren't small, taste was also fine so nothing to complain about Price wise its like every other sushi place where its more expensive over here but acceptable. Ambience was quite nice and calming, the service was decent as well.
