One of the biggest and authentic Cafes you can visit for Kaffee and Kuchen in the afternoon in Freiburg. We had a terribly hard time choosing which Kuchen to eat because of all the different kinds. They have seats both downstairs and upstairs, but it gets full pretty fast. Staff were super friendly and we had a great time devouring all the cake 🍰

Lovely cafe with good selection of sweet and savoury pastries. They also offer brunch and breakfast and cookies. The cafe is very lovely. The price is little higher than in other cafes in the area.

We visited Gmeiner two times at our small trip. Desserts were really delicious, also coffees. Staffs were friendly and kind. Location of Gmeiner, easy to find and we sat outside and had delighted hours. Tried Black Forest Cake, Chestnut Pie and Mereng Pie. Each of them were really good.

We found this place by chance, as only in Freiburg im breisgau for a day. This cafe was very busy but we were lucky to get served promptly. We had the blackforest cake, which is amazing. I never tasted one so light. Don't be put off by the queue outside as it's definitely worth a visit.
