We ate here three times, three days in a row, and can honestly say that Kaffee Helden serves up the best coffee, the best breakfast, and the best lunch in Lübeck. Everything is freshly made, produced to a very high standard, and tastes divine. Try the delicious breakfast platters, the savoury and flavoursome currywurst for lunch, and don’t miss sampling their exceptional, home baked cakes. You’ll not find a better eatery in town. The groovy old-school playlist ain’t half bad either.

We found Kaffeehelden while exploring the lovely historic island. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming, with an open beam ceiling and large windows to brighten up the inside. There is adequate indoor seating for up to maybe 30 people, and only one table available as we relaxed and drank the delicious lattes. Though listed as a café, it seems that it would be a great spot for breakfast or a light meal. The service and helpfulness is also very good. We would return if we are ever in the area again.
