We're located a bit outside the bustling city center, in a rural setting. It's peaceful here, with a large beer garden and some playground equipment for the children. Everything is a bit dated, like the old Hempelmann Inn... Well, not quite. There's an old butter churn and an antique washing machine in the hallway. But don't be fooled. The dining room is beautifully furnished, blending old and new. Dark leather chairs and benches surround the old dining tables. A rustic restaurant we've known for years and always enjoyed eating at. The quality and value for money were very good. BUT...today we went back after a very long time. The service was very quick and friendly. The food (one salad and one schnitzel) was anything but good. The salad dressing was too vinegary and tasted like a store-bought product – although, when we asked, it was supposed to be a homemade house dressing. The ham looked more like rolled beer ham. The salt and pepper I asked for were long past their expiration dates: September 2023 and June 2024. A dip and pizza rolls were served

What on earth happened to the prices in 2026??? Sometimes over €25 for schnitzel dishes without a side salad in a remote country inn!!! We used to love coming here, but at these prices, no thanks. And don't tell me "everything's gotten more expensive."
