We were really looking forward to eating traditional German food! When we arrived at the table it took almost 15 minutes before we got any service, we had to ask over 3 times. (Didn’t feel welcomed by staff). We ordered 2 portions of Schweinehaxe which was labeled in red on the menu. When we got our food it was clearly the wrong item.. (the wrong item tasted microwaved) we tried to communicate this to the staff but was met with a blaming game in German. Kept interrupting us while we tried to talk with the manager. As always the Dom did not disappoint,the beer was really good. There was a seasonal beer which was very nice. The food was excellent and had hearty potions. Gulasch soup was lovely and the homemade dark bread went really well with the soup. We visit Neuss often and we always try and have at least one meal here. Nearer the weekend it is advisable to book a table as it gets very busy.

It’s 3 years since I was last in this restaurant and the standard is still high...the ‘Kutscheteller’ was superb - meat (pork, rump & turkey steaks) cooked to perfection, excellent pepper sauce, bratkartoffel not the usual tired excuse for potatoes, salad fresh & crispy with an outstanding dressing. House beer was ‘fine’ Service was efficient and came with a genuine smile (may have been my clumsy German making them smile?) Hopefully I’ll be back sooner than three years next time.
