This small unassuming family run and owned restaurant, was not at all what I was expecting. We were greeted as we walked in by Michael the chef and owner, with a traditional New Zealand hello, shown to our table, and a suggestion for me to try the local dish ( which I did). The food is outstanding, the wines are good and generous in the pours, but to me the standout was the desert, a masterpiece of creativity and flavor. A busy restaurant, but a great warm, family feel, traditional, but even as " tourists " we didn't feel out of place. I wish I could give it 6 stars.

A cozy Franconian restaurant just steps from Dürer’s house, with wood-paneled walls, checkered tablecloths, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The menu focuses on regional classics, crispy pork shoulder with dumpling and red cabbage, Nuremberg sausages with potato salad, rich goulash, and everything is cooked with care. Portions are hearty without being overwhelming, and desserts like the sampler plate or affogato with gingerbread ice cream are standouts. Add in warm service and fair prices, and you’ve got one of the best places in the old town to enjoy tradition
