Fresh, tasty Vietnamese food at a great price. Limited number of tables inside the restaurant which was almost full when we arrived at around 6 pm but they were able to find a small table for us. Great service throughout and I could see the chef cooking the food in the kitchen from where I sat. All the people around us seemed to be having a great time and enjoying their food. Today (March 21st) after the Walhalla excursion we had time until the train left and since we were not familiar with the city, I looked at the restaurant on the map. The choice came to this one based on the reviews. I went to the restaurant with my mom. The service and the food were fantastic.

Food: 2/5 - being from a city of major Asian food places, this wasn’t our tastiest Asian food we experienced in Europe. We ordered the beef pho and fried chicken pho dish. The beef was dry. Taste was just average. Service: 3/5 - based on their signage, they didn’t accept credit cards accept for a German card. We weren’t able to communicate in German that we wanted our bill. We played it safe by paying cash in Euros. Atmosphere: 4/5 - nice ambiance inside or there’s outdoor seating.

After several other places rejected us because of reservations these guys took us in. So big bonus there. Nothing like seeing restaurants in Germany tell people to pack sand even when they have multiple tables open. But I digress. Rice Hat is cozy little place with a decent selection of Vietnamese and other Asian fusion items. The service is fast and prices are reasonable. Just like it should be for food like this. If you’re in the mood for Asian food in Regensburg, this is the spot!
