I really wanted to give this place a higher rating. The food was excellent, and the service during the meal was very welcoming. Unfortunately, the payment process was highly unprofessional. The waiter insisted that their card machine had a mandatory minimum 7% tip and would not let me proceed without it. He even gave me a lecture on how I must follow local customs because I am visiting from Northern Europe. I highly recommend Ochsen Willi as a dining highlight near Schlossplatz in Stuttgart. The food was very good, and there is an excellent salad buffet. The restaurant also has cozy barrel seats outside, which create a great atmosphere. We had the all-you-can-eat spare ribs. Even though we only managed about one and a half portions, we were allowed to take the rest home. The side dishes have to be ordered separately from the ribs. The ribs themselves were excellent. It was the best food I ever had in my life. The size of the leg of the pig was enormous and the taste was top tier. I am very delighted and happy to dine here. And the service the guy gave was remarkable, from the entry he was very friendly and the way he treated me was top notch. The star of our lunch was the Pork ribs! Got a single portion pork ribs, 1/2 pork knuckle, 180gram beef steak and Käsespätzle because we want the German style noodles with cheese 🧀 it’s yummy! We were informed that waiter wasn’t fluent in English, did some google translation and we got our food ordered. We picked a hut instead of the tables inside of the restaurant. Note: 1 dish (food) per person is a must!
