We had a wonderful meal here that was hearty and healthy! They are vegetarian friendly and had a great selection. The meat food was also amazing! We were pleasantly surprised by the great location. Our waitress was very nice and gave us suggestions from the menu. The Helles is the winning beer here and the Weimar Classic after dinner was a win. Highly recommend for a great friendly atmosphere, fresh food and great location.

Beautiful place! We arrived in the evening in Weimar and most restaurants in Germany close their kitchens very early. However, the staff at Zum Schwarzen Bären was super friendly and accommodated us. The food is of very high quality and very tasty. They offer a great selection of traditional German drinks and dishes but also vegan goulash and other vegan/vegetarian dishes. I will definitely come back!

We arrived to Weimar on Sunday eve and one of the not many open places was this bar. Im thankful to waitress that served us food around 9.30pm, as we were hungry as hell. The place itself has centuried history, and this is what brings that special antique vibe into it. Food is super local, tasty and affordable. Beware: size of dishes is massive! my personal recommend: carrot/coconut soup 😌
