Celebrated a friend's birthday at Honjo, a popular Japanese-Korean fusion spot in Sheung Wan. We tried their lunch sets. The Karaage chicken was crispy and juicy, while the slow-cooked Pork Katsu was uniquely tender. The Chilli Wagyu Tataki melted in the mouth, and the grilled Hamachi Kama was rich and flavourful. The matcha desserts provided a perfect finish. Beyond the creative dishes, the staff made the celebration extra special with thoughtful birthday surprises. Honjo tasting menu with friends last night 🥂 The starters were light and appetizing, the spicy wagyu tataki was tender with a nice kick, the sashimi was sweet and melt-in-your-mouth fresh. The absolute highlight was the lobster tail cooked on a sizzling hot stone—smoky, juicy, and perfectly firm in texture. The hamachi kama nimono was also wonderfully braised, tender and full of savory flavor. For dessert, the black sesame crème brûlée was a stroke of genius—rich, creamy, and irresistibly aromatic. What truly moved us was the service team—they were incredibly passionate, patiently walking us through the menu, and their warmth filled the evening with laughter and joy. Great food, great friends— what a wonderful night!!

Very hip environment for group dining, basically a bar atmosphere with dimmed dining room. The food was awesome, good Japanese with quite a strong contemporary touch. Very courteous hospitality and all around a wonderful dining spot. We did the restaurant week menu and the portions were generous. They do enforce dining time — fair enough as it was certainly a full house on Friday.

We've been to Honjo several times before, but this visit was extra special - it was our 15th Wedding Anniversary and wow, the team made it a night to remember! Caroline was a star, giving us excellent service and very charming...always with a genuine smile. A big shoutout to the manager, Ryan and their GM Lorenzo who made sure we were taken cared of the entire time. We were never short of anything. Very friendly, extremely professional and hospitable. A very big thank you to Chef Kyle who delighted us with every delicious meal served on our table. Wow it was like food made from heaven! So unforgettable, delicious and beautifully presented. It was really a top class dinner. Overall a fantastic experience and we can't stop raving about it to our friends. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.
