Very disappointing experience. Restaurant added a mandatory 10% service charge to the bill without informing us properly. Service charge should be optional, not forced on customers. Staff response was also not satisfactory when asked about removing it. Transparency and customer respect are important.

Came to white oak as it was around a 5 min walk from our hotel. Nicely decorated and good AC. Half the food came out fairly quickly however 3 of our chicken burgers took nearly 30 minutes to come out after the other food and everyone else on our table had eaten by the time the burgers had come out. staff were nice but the overall Service wasn’t great. Then as we were about to leave because more customers had arrived to eat music came on. It would’ve been nice if the music was already on when we arrived.

We decided to try this restaurant because it has a 4.7-star rating on Google - I have no idea where those stars came from... We ordered two drinks and three dishes; we received one drink (supposedly a Mojito, though it tasted more like Sprite with extra lemon) and two dishes, the third dish is still missing (we are already back at our hotel). The second drink didn't arrive until after we had already finished our meal and only after we had asked for it a second time. The whole place smelled as if people were smoking right there or directly underneath. The "best" part came last: the change we received was incorrect, too—but since the discrepancy was small, we simply didn't have the energy left to argue about it. At least the third dish which, as of today, is still missing wasn't charged to our bill. In summary: the drinks were okay, the food was okay, but the staff neither speaks nor understands English so not recommended.
