Manan Ladani★★★★Had a really unique and authentic experience at Vishalla. It’s not just about food, it’s more about the whole Gujarati cultural vibe. The food is completely authentic Gujarati and pretty much covers everything you’d expect in a traditional meal. That said, the taste is very simple — more like homemade food rather than restaurant-style rich or spicy dishes. What really stands out is the seating and ambiance. You sit on the floor in proper Gujarati style, which makes the experience feel very traditional and rooted. The whole place has a village-like setup, which is quite different from regular dining spots. It is a bit on the expensive side, especially considering the food is simple. So I’d say you’re paying more for the experience and atmosphere than just the food. Overall, a great place to visit at least once for the authentic Gujarati dining experience 👍
Rishi Jain★★★★My first Gujarati thali in Ahmedabad despite years of visiting the city had to be somewhere special and unique. Vishalla has long been named in multiple lists to have a fantastic thali, so we planned our Sunday lunch here. The service is impeccable with the staff always seeming to know when a refill was needed and popping up right then. Reduced just 1 point as the last course of Ice cream and Masala Date was something that we had to ask them as they seemed to have forgotten it. Food was simple and delicious. Corn Capsicum, Aloo Matar, Gujarati Dal all were flavorful. No excess oil or ghee which a lot of other places add to mask the quality of ingredients as well as the cooking. The Muthiya and Pakora Farsan were great as I had multiple rounds. Chaas in Gujarat is just special and this place delivers on that expectation which led to us downing multiple glasses. The ambience is very rustic and you enjoy the food sitting on a traditional khat (cot). We used it in it's intended use case wi
Hina Beg Therapist★★★★★If you’re in Ahmedabad and want a cultural dining experience, Vishalla restaurant is a must-visit. At night, the place isn’t very well lit from the main road, so it’s best to follow Google Maps carefully. Don’t worry though, once you see a large open parking area and a board with the name, you’ll know you’ve arrived at the right spot. The entrance itself sets the mood. A pathway lit with lanterns placed on the ground leads you in, creating an earthy, calming vibe right from the start. At the booking desk, we were welcomed with a traditional song, and instantly the entire atmosphere transported us into a village setting. The concept is somewhat similar to Chowki Dhani, but Vishalla has its own unique charm. What makes it special is the addition of a Utensil Museum and an Art space. We explored both before dinner. The Utensil Museum showcases a fascinating collection of antique cookware, storage vessels, and traditional locks. One of the highlights was a fish-shaped lock. The staff demon
Seemin Achhava★★★★★Vishala Restaurant beautifully combines authentic flavors with warm traditional hospitality. The food is flavorful, comforting, and prepared with authenticity, offering a lovely variety that makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff are courteous, kind, and genuinely welcoming, adding warmth to the visit. The ambiance is absolutely charming, with rustic aesthetics and a beautifully crafted village-inspired setup that reflects tradition so elegantly. The peaceful atmosphere and cultural essence make Vishala a truly memorable destination and a must-visit in Ahmedabad.
Dr shalini Pandey Child Specialist★★★★★If you visit Ahmadabad you must visit Vishalla. Excellent ambience, sumptuous food, performance by local artists. The servers treat you with love. Hand washing is an experience in itself and they even provide traditional “raakh” to wash your hands. The museum boasts of one of its kind collection of old utensils which are so very unique and ancient that it transports you to a different world in history. Every decor is time piece painstakingly collected single handedly and displayed aesthetically. Visiting Vishalla is not just for eating, it’s a live experience where present and past coexist cohesively. Would recommend it to everyone
Gaurav Suri★★★★★Vishala is not just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Set in a beautifully crafted village-style space with mud walls, swings, and open-air seating, it captures the essence of Gujarat’s warmth and hospitality. The traditional Gujarati thali is a feast in every sense — flavorful, wholesome, and served with love. From the kadhi and undhiyu to the chaas and sweets, every dish tastes authentic and comforting. There are options to sit cross-legged on the floor or at regular tables, both adding to the charm. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you’re always looked after. A perfect place to unwind, enjoy great food, and soak in rustic vibes. Highly recommended for families, food lovers, and anyone wanting a slice of Gujarat’s culture and cuisine!
Harshita Goyal★★Old traditional Village with Rajasthai dance and Gujarati food. Food is very bland and tasteless. Service is slow. The place is very dark and lacks basic amenities. Generally foreigners and NRI visit here to learn about old times. Do not go here thinking it will be just like other gujarati food serving restaurant.
