McGettigan’s on Queen Street feels like a pub that never needed to reinvent itself. This is the original McGettigan’s, opened in the 1960s by Jim McGettigan, long before the name became a global Irish pub brand. You can still sense that origin story in the room. It does not feel franchised. It feels local. When we walked in, an older gentleman was behind the bar. Calm, grounded, attentive without hovering. Had a Jameson mixed drink, think he forgot the whiskey. Zero smell, zero taste but well paid. Went to the club on the opposite site and ordered the same drink. Hypothesis proved. Charming pub though and friendly server. But 10€ for a drink that tastes of nothing but ginger ale is a joke.

We were looking for a restaurant were to find local food in this area and found it by coincidence. We decided to try it without checking reviews or anything else. It was beyond expectations. Tried the Dublin coddle and baby ribs.. believe me must visit it! Food was superb, large portions and fair prices. Service was five stars worthed, very dedicated staff!
