Worth the hype. Easy to make a reservation with them over Whatsapp. We went in January and the basement did fill up so if you want a table down near the cave, do make a reservation. There are more tables upstairs and many tables outside but it is a popular restaurant so I can imagine it fills up all those tables during peak season. The location is easy to get to but will feel like you're heading into the underworld which is part of the fun--it's still safe there despite the graffiti and trash. While I’m in Catania, I try to eat seafood as much as possible because it’s usually the freshest and best option here. Unfortunately, this dish didn’t meet my expectations. I ordered what I believe was called Pasta Catanese, something local to the area. The fried fish, coated in breadcrumbs, had a slightly sweet taste at first, which felt unusual to me. Personally, I don’t enjoy sweet flavors in savory dishes. I even tried adding olive oil and pepper to adjust the taste, but it didn’t really help, so I ended up only eating the pasta.
