★★★★☆ Permalico was conveniently located near our Airbnb—just a short uphill walk of about two minutes, which wasn’t bad at all. We found this restaurant through an AI recommendation as a place where locals dine, and it seemed to live up to that reputation. The restaurant has a few tables outside and additional seating indoors. We were seated inside, where the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and casual—nothing fancy, but very welcoming. There was a nice mix of locals and tourists dining that evening. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly quiet, but it became noticeably busier after 9:00

Lucky enough to get a walk-in by arriving early. We were seated on a communal table inside a charming exposed brick restaurant. The service was friendly, accomodating to our request to get a salad contorno with our pasta, and despite us being a walk-in we never felt rushed. This was our first meal of our trip and the first time we'd tried Pici, Upon reflection it was the best pici we had all trip, texturally wonderful, like the udon of Italian pasta. Buonissimo! Great deal! I'm Italian and I bring my Colombian husband there! We just jumped off the train and went to book a table for the dinner and it was the best choice to do in the afternoon! The place was fully booked at night. Good value for money ,good quality of the food, nice staff service. The pork was delicious! The pici were amazing, so creamy! The best end was the tiramisu, big portion as Italian like! Thank you for the great experience in Siena!

Visited with a group of 5. Ordered different dishes to share. The ricotta gnocchi with pistachio pesto and sundried tomato was tasty. The tripe (local specialty) was not our favourite. Would not order again. The tagliata was also tasty. The fennel and orange salad was good. No dressing included; you can add olive oil or balsamic vinegar. The tiramisu was good. The first came with chocolate nibs. The second without, which was a little bit disappointing.
