Il Vinaio is without doubt one of the quintessential Umbrian culinary gems! Caterina has been serving her local and traditional dishes for many years. Definitely one of my global favourites and a must to visit, when in town. Capturing the essence of slow food enjoyed al fresco in a Roman Centro Storico. Where tartufo and fiori di zucca are treated as common ingredients and not pretentiously elevated to price-gouge the faux gourmand. The appetizer was great, pane e tomato. The main was just ok. Meatloaf, apparently there are widely different versions. This was not bad, but I wouldn't get it again. The potatoes were great, the wine was excellent. Service was ok. This is generally one of the better restaurants. The people were quite nice.
