One thing I didn't realise about Kenya, despite being one of the best coffee growing nations is that it is a not a coffee drinking place. Sure, there are cafes all over the place but most of the coffee you're gonna find is trash. Most of the good stuff is shipped overseas. Which is why places like Spring Valley is so rare because they make a gosh-darn good espresso. Super fruity, good amount of acidity and a joy in a cup of cortado. I honestly wish there were more places like these in Nairobi.

Saw this place mentioned in Barista magazine, had to go here to check out Kenyan beans roasted in Kenya. Baristas are knowledgeable and make a good pourover. They can advise the best brew method for each bean. Several medium roasts to choose from. Each bag has roast date and even name of the roaster. 250g of the Elgon (the favorite, so juicy) was only 1300.
