Bakker Suikerbuik in Delft was a lovely surprise. The café is tucked away in a charming spot near the old center and has an interesting story, what started as a bakery evolved into a cozy family, friendly café, with a focus on fresh, homemade food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We had the soup of the day, which was spicy and full of flavor, really comforting. The croquette was also excellent, especially paired with the mustard. As we walked by, searching for a Dutch pancake place to eat lunch, we were invited in by the owner. He assured us that his sandwiches were the best. I am so glad we did! The sandwiches were EXCELLENT, tasty, the best. The bread was delicious and fresh. And the service was the BEST we experienced in our 2 weeks in the Netherlands. I had a mackerel salad sandwich and hubby had a smoked salmon sandwich. They were delicious. To the owners, thank you for inviting us into your restaurant. Keep up the great work.

Very good service and good food. They have a kids room as well, so if you came with small kids, they will have a place to play. Good selection of biers and very tasty toast - I would recommend the Croquette Monsieur. Overall recommended as a breakfast or a lunch place.
