I had a really unpleasant experience at the Doodle involving the owner. It was a busy night and I was about to leave when he was passing by to get inside the bar. I did not notice being on the way, but suddenly I felt his fingers in pressing in my arm really aggressively as he was passing me. He pressed his fingers into my arm hard enough that it genuinely hurt and made me cry afterward. What upset me most was that he did not simply guide me aside or say something verbally, he specifically grabbed and pressed my arm in a way that felt unnecessarily forceful. I live in Deventer and have known this pub for a long time. My visit today confirmed once again why this isn't a place I feel comfortable in. The owner's attitude towards customers is curt and disinterested. When I mentioned this, I was dismissed with, "I hear that often." Apparently, it's not a reason to change anything. What also struck me—and what I personally find uncomfortable—is that the owner's attention seems selective. The approach towards young, female customers feels distinctly different than towards other guests (the owner is elderly, so it feels inappropriate). That's my experie
