Simply outstanding experience. Americans take note: super accessible food for our palates, and an excellent introduction into traditional Dutch comfort food. No need to eat burgers at a faux Irish bar. We had the meat platter with sausage and cheese which was an excellent starter, followed by some bread with herb butter that is not to be missed. For mains we had the scallop and shrimp plate and the Dutch stamppot with sausage. Both completely blew away our expectations. A very offbeat cozy family run restaurant. The chef is very great host. The food was extremely delicious and the vegetarian schnitzel was very nicely made. It had a very homely feeling overall. Would definitely recommend it, also for vegetarians.

We were looking for an authentic Dutch food restaurant. We walked in off the street not knowing anything about it. The chef greated us and explained his menu and sold us on it. We had the meatballs and Dutch stew. I loved the meatballs. It is not a large portion. Great if you not as hungry. We finished with a piece of warm apple pie. The small family atmosphere is ideal. Definitely worth your time to check it out.

This was recommended by the hotel where we were staying as authentic local food. I am glad we ate there. The meatball salad, deer stew and mussel stew were excellent and it also has local beers and a great wine selection. Very good and friendly service and a very relaxed space. Eat here if you are in Haarlem.
