Darren Roberts★★★★★This place won't suit every tourist that visits Avila, but the locals know a good thing and make up the bulk of their clientele. Excellent people watching. We were lucky to get a table and stayed for 6 drinks and 6 good tapas included with the drinks and one main. We walked away feeling as though we had robbed the place after paying just Eur 30. The service was faultless considering how busy the place was and we regret not having some change to tip the excellent waitress.

Ignacio was very kind and personable as well as the rest of staff. Everybody is just real and genuine people. Despite our limited Spanish we had a very good banter with some of the locals and of course the owner and staff. The only reason why I'm coming back to Avila is because of Cafeteria Los Palacios Serrano.

After waiting patiently and politely for our turn standing at the bar, at least 10 minutes, there were some guys ahead of us ordering, and then it was our turn. In between, a girl and a guy walked by in a corner and were served (okay, we let it slide). After us, there were two more girls, and then two men. The girls moved closer to the bar until they were at the front. When it was our turn, we said it was our turn (the girls confirmed it), but the waiter insisted the men were there first.
