A good local and nice decorated restaurant just inside the wall by the cathedral. We tried the traditional menu with local bean soup, mashed potatoes with peppers, garlic and pig fats, creamy cold potato salad and the big ox cutlet with mixed salad. Excellent meat perfect medium roasted. Good caraffe of local wine, big bottle of water and fresh bread. Flan and melon as desert. Helpful and polite staff. A good place to eat in Avila.

Great location, and given this point the food value is higher. However, I believe it is great value for money. We got the 750g steak dish for 3 people at about 70 euro. The meat was extremely tasty. The dessert was nice, we had the cheesecake and the 3 chocolate cake, but I preferred the cheesecake.

We stopped here for lunch during a quick visit to the city. We chose the menu as we wanted to try a few things. The menu included patatas revolcona, ensaladilla, beans soup and a steak, and a dessert all to share. The soup was very nice and also the potatoes, which I never tried cooked in that way. The meat was very tender and well cooked. The dessert was very good, especially the arroz con leche. The only note would be about the price (58 for 2 people) to be slightly high for the amount of food. Said that, the location is super central so I understand that part of the price is also because

Amazing veal steak. Best in my life, and I have been eatong beef since the Korean War....70+ years ago. Perfect medium rare. Fascinating place. Its walls are part of 900 year old walls of a fotress. Across the street from an elegant cathedral. Fortess walls are complete and stretch for 2.6 km. Great views of Aliva and the surronding valley.
