After a long day of little to no breakfast, no lunch except for some nuts and a whole day exploring Montserrat we were wanting some good paella when arriving back to the area and the first restaurant that popped up was Restaurant Marcelino 16. Walking into the restaurant gave you traditional Spanish vibes, ordered tapas and paellas, missing on one of the meat dishes the waiter (Ariel) was certain what we had ordered was enough, he even translated to English to say if the food wasn’t enough we can order more … and YES he was right!!! I don't know where to start. We were here in Barcelona for only 2 days and we came across this restaurant after a little research, visited the restaurant twice and loved it. The sangria was amazing, the vine was so delicious. On the first day we ordered a glass of sangria and the portion was really big. On the second day we ordered the jar and we had 6-7 almost full glasses of sangria. The paella was amazing. We talked about it all day after eating it. It's rich with sea food. Now onto the TAPAS!!! We ordered 5 small sized tapas in total. We were wondering if the small sizes would be enough

I had a decent set price menu del día for less than 15€. Service from Regi was excellent so we left him a tip. The food was freshly made and good value for money, The fried anchovies with salad were great. The jug of house wine was good too. The place was packed with local dinners. They have a small street side terrace.

We came in right at 20:00 when the kitchen opens and got our food so quick!! We had a lot of tapas, seafood paella, razor clamps and a vegan burger. We got great service, amazing food and very fair prices - would highly recommend especially for the variety available.
