Stumbled across this place based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. Friendly and attentive staff, great wine and incredible food. The breaded cod and peppers were definitely the highlight! Would absolutely recommend that dish and also the pisto. Very reasonably priced and had a great atmosphere. We didn’t find many tourists in there which made it seem a bit more authentic. Would happily eat here again!

This was the best restaurant and food I had in Madrid. My aim was to go to local places for the most authentic food I could get and this place did not disappoint! The atmosphere was really good, I loved the décor and the food was the highlight of the trip. They do an English menu but we did really appreciate that they let us try our best to read and order in Spanish as it helped practise the language. I visited Taberna Malaspina, just a few meters from Puerta del Sol, and it was a great surprise. The bar has a charming, old-school atmosphere that makes it feel like a true traditional Madrid tavern. The service was friendly and attentive, the beer prices were very reasonable for such a touristy area, and the tapas were delicious. Considering the location, quality, and overall experience, the price we paid for a couple of beers and some tapas was very fair. Definitely a spot I would recommend if you’re in central Madrid and looking for an authentic place to grab a drink and a bite.

What a nice little tavern, friendly employees, clean bathrooms and free tapas as you have your drinks. Prices are very reasonable but to me, more inexpensive than expensive. Love it!
