We went to Umami last night in a group of three as a recommendation. Our reservation was for 11pm, the last meal service for the night. It was just us for the meal so the experience felt all the more exclusive and special. Bea and Daniel were so, so incredibly kind and knowledgeable. You can tell they absolutely love their craft and take it seriously. And it shows. The family works to create an authentic Japanese dining experience. We went for the end-of-year tasting menu which I guess consists of the favorite/best dishes of the year. The service was amazing, the chef and staff were very attentive, helpful, and personable. The atmosphere is standard but I liked the touch of adding a "coffee and dessert section" and a chance to chat with the staff after eating. Very nice and cozy! The experience itself was unique and comfortable. The food was mostly great - I liked a lot of the dishes and they mostly had good presentation. It’s an unique experience in Oviedo if you wanna try something completely different. Japanese cuisine with the best fresh Spanish ingredients. Full of Asian drinks, beers and cocktails. Please ask for the pickle wasabi I have never tried anything like this before even with my Asian friends. Lovely service and vibes!
