Every time we come to Ponferrada, we come for the set menu; they have it every day, and on Wednesdays they have botillo (a type of blood sausage). The quality-price ratio is superb! The owner is fantastic, friendly, and very kind. It's a simple bar, but they welcome you like family, serving wonderful homemade food in the local style. I highly recommend it! It's a sure bet.

We went as a family. The staff was very attentive, especially helpful for the elderly, assisting them down the stairs. They told us we could let them know next time and they would seat us in the accessible area. I returned after quite some time and had seafood paella and roast chuck steak. The paella was delicious and very generous. The steak was spectacular, perfectly cooked. Both dishes were quite large; it was impossible to finish both. For dessert, I had a very refreshing lemon mousse, traditional country bread, and all for just €13, regardless of the day of the week. Closed on Sundays. I highly recommend going; it's best to call ahead to reserve.
