We were at the San Isidro funeral home, and rather than eat there and take a walk, we ventured out into the neighborhood to find somewhere to grab a bite. We stumbled upon this restaurant and rubbed our eyes in disbelief when we saw the sign for the set menu—it was a Saturday, and a public holiday at that! €10. We figured, well, we had nothing to lose by trying. For starters, we ordered tripe with chickpeas...delicious and filling. For our main courses, I had bonito with tomato sauce, and my partner had chicken in sauce, both accompanied by homemade fries. Both dishes were also excellent. And

This simple neighborhood restaurant is a real find, a classic local bar where workers, truckers, and neighbors eat. The home-style food is as simple as it is excellent, as is the professional yet friendly service from the young and pleasant women who work there. They served us excellent appetizers before the main courses. The portions were very generous. The black rice, mushroom scramble, and Russian salad were all superb. The daily set menu on a Sunday was just over €12. Prices like that are hard to find these days. Wonderful!
