We visited May 29 2026 and had a wonderful experience at Travellers’ Bar in Galle Face Hotel. The atmosphere was classic, elegant with historical photo wall of significant people who visited Galle Face Hotel, with beautiful views of the Indian Ocean that made the visit even more special and relaxing. The staff specially Mr Saman the restaurant manager and Mr Sachi were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. The food specially the Pork Black Curry was so good and the drinks were beautifully presented and tasted great. It was the perfect place to unwind, whether for a casual drink or a relaxing evening with friends. I highly recommend Travellers’ Bar for its excellent service, delicious food, refreshing cocktails, and unforgettable ambiance. I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you again Mr Saman for the amazing Americano before leaving Colombo.

What is not to like about this spot? Your feet are literally within steps of the ocean! The view is spectacular, among the backdrop of colonial architecture and with options to sit either inside or outside, there is seating to accommodate anyone comfortably! They have a range of good traditional cocktails & cleverly made concoctions too ie A Harrison Ford which sadly the creativity is being phased out of other modern bars across the city. The service is beyond excellent and thanks to the manager Mr Saman. His staff ensure guests are attentively looked after- it’s the little details that really make a difference and good to see Galle Face Hotel hasn’t cut any of that in the name of cost saving/convenience! I wanted Sri Lankan food and there wasn’t a vegetarian option on the menu but that didn’t stop the manager speaking to the chef to accommodate my vegetarian dietary request. Spent my last night in Sri Lanka at the lovely Galle Face Hotel. High tea was nice, but the true winner was Traveler's Bar! I loved the Sri Lankan Sunrise cocktail. The view is spectacular and the place is well decorated. There is plenty of parking too. The customer service is good, and there's both indoor and outdoor seating space available. However, the downside for me was the prices and lack of drink options. Of course, this place isn't Halal, but hope their menu offered options like juices or even milkshakes. It is still a great place to hangout and enjoy its beachy vibes, though.
