On this most recent trip, I had lunch and dinner and ordered a tea take away. The food was delicious , especially the puri and string hoppers with fried fish. The service was excellent. As we were returning guests, we felt so warmly welcomed. The hostess Saranya is a gem and we returned because she was excellent. Will recommend this restaurant. Good airconditioning too, so it was very comfortable.

We were recommended this restaurant for dinner on the first day of our Jaffna visit - however, it wasn't a pleasant experience. Amudham is a restaurant at The Thinnai hotel. The food was very delicious (except the desserts), but quite pricey when compared to similar fare you would get from other places in Jaffna (luxury places or not). The desserts (the no-bake cheesecake and the tiramisu) were horrible, were too small for the price, and just horrible. We started with the attukaal rasam which just about covered half-way mark of the small soup bowl and looked like "kaluvi oothuna thanni" more than a rasam (for LKR rasam per bowl) -- we dined on a later day at the Peninsula where they served a more delicious, bigger, appetizing attukaal rasam for only half the price. The Amudham should go take a look at that. The rest of the food was tasty, had a good portion size, yet a little pricey.
