A very famous coffee shop since the older days. Their specialty Fong Da coffee is very delicious and aromatic. Another one is the blue mountain coffee has a special kick in it. Very suitable for a relaxing afternoon tea after a long walk in Ximending. Abit crampy though.
A piece of history of Taipei, and especially the coffee culture. Keep in mind, the service is terrible but a taste of old days, which is great. Love the experience here.
My wife and me have a set of oldies Big and nice breakfast each. I try slice of bread with and without strawberry jam. I preferred the later, very unique taste and nice. 😋

Fong Da Coffee unbeatable nostalgic charm and incredible history. Walking in felt like stepping straight back into 1950s Taipei, and the rich aroma of coffee beans roasting at the storefront immediately sets the mood. I absolutely loved watching the vintage syphon and massive cold-drip setups at work. The signature FD Iced Coffee was incredibly smooth, and pairing it with a couple of their traditional, crispy walnut cookies straight from the classic glass jars was an absolute highlight. The only reason it isn’t a perfect five stars for me is that the experience can feel a bit rushed; the seating is quite tight, table-sharing is expected, and the fast-paced, no-nonsense service means you can't exactly linger over your cup. Still, for the amazing history, affordable prices, and authentic vibe, it is an absolute must-visit in Ximending! Service wise don’t expect too much for it, and you have to wait in line cos this is a famous place.

Fong Da Coffee is considered a local institution since this establishment has been brewing coffee since 1956 and is well known to both locals and tourists. They offer a wide variety of coffees brewed from different types of beans sourced from all over the world. They also employ different brewing methods.

Open since 1956. A very unique, old school, great place if you're a coffee person. It hold the traditional Taiwanese Shop house looks, minimum or no renovations. You will not expects that it serves great coffee & with traditional taiwanese snacks. It really just looks like a provision shop from the outside but inside, here's a cafe liked, air-con seating for you to savour the best coffee ever.. You can also purchase coffee beans for take home. If you need help or recommendations, just tell them how you like your coffee & they will help mix the beans to your delight. They also provide grinding services if you prefer the coffee as powder form. Refer to my pictures for the variaties of beans they sell. Highly recommend.

Went here cause I saw a local influencer introducing about this place. The food was decent, but the service was horrible. The lady at the front was friendly but not this lady in the picture. She was so annoyed the whole time. When we sat down, she threw the wet wipes on our table, fine, i didn’t read too much into it. When we were deciding on our orders, there was no personal space at all. She kept standing so closely at our table, giving us pressure to order quickly. When we were ready to order, she was so annoyed at whatever we ordered. We wanted to order separate items on the menu but she was frowning and doesn’t get why we can’t just order the set and was so pissed at us. I’ve met so many Taiwanese with amazing service, but this is really rude. Never paying a penny again for this kind rude service no matter how good the food is, which in this case, its really average. Removing from my list, not patronising this store again.

Fong Da has been around since 1956. It is an old-school coffee and tea shop that sells coffee-based beverages but also breakfast food like toast, eggs, and ham as well as cookies and cakes. The cappuccinos were good as were the cakes we had. There was a queue but the line moved quickly. There is one line to wait for a table while take out customers wait at the front counter. It is a nonsense Coffee shop with a one hour time limit. It is a very busy shop so the ladies that work there were curt and to the point, which I like, so don’t mess around and be an annoying and entitled tourist. Fong Da is a cool little Coffee spot in the heart of Ximending that is neither trendy nor pretentious. Our bill for two cappuccinos and two slices of cake was $380 NTS (around $16 Canadian).
