Stopped by with my boys for a hot breakfast and ended up staying .busy but the waiting staff are quick and professional.. My kids especially enjoyed the waffles and a very generous serving of English breakfast...worth a stop/visit..

Orchid Cafe on Haile Selassie Road in Dar es Salaam has always been a reliable spot for me. While I have previously visited this cafe mainly for professional business meetings, today was a personal dining experience to mark a special celebration. We ordered a wide variety of items, including the All Veggies Pizza, Paneer Roll, Garlic Fries, Chocolate Truffle Pastries, and a Blueberry Cheesecake. Almost every dish tasted good, with the only real disappointment being the pizza, which felt quite ordinary and standard. However, the desserts completely stole the show. Finding good cake in Dar es Salaam can be tough, as they often leave a dry, powdery feeling in your mouth. But the pastries here were incredibly impressive, rich, and delicious—far exceeding my expectations. We also ordered a Piña Colada, which was blended beautifully and tasted much better than most other places in the city. I am beginning to do restaurant and cafe reviews because I believe they help a lot when trying to find decent places in unfamiliar areas. The atmosphere here is nice and comfortable but busy. I ordered only a caramel frappe. It took between 10 to 15 minutes for only that item. When the waiter brought it to me it was in a to-go cup with no real clear reason why. Aisde from that the frappe was ok but it was a little overloaded with caramel. The only last thing was one of the waiters kept circling the tables and would stop to adjust the condiments on my table. This is usually not something waiters should do until the customer is finished and they are cleaning the table. It just felt weird. The food may be good but I wanted to leave and go elsewhere. Maybe you will have an okay experience.

Lovely Cafe, their cakes are just delicious. I got my Mom and Dad’s birthday Cake recently from them. I also tried Pistachio Nutella cake & Blueberry cheesecake. I would absolutely recommend it. Just delicious cakes. Ambience is lovely, great place to catch up with friends and family. A must visit for a quick bite, a good meal and a dessert- all in one spot.

This is a very nice place to visit. It's definitely a place for tourists, with it's more western cuisine. None the less very delicious and loads to choose from. This is also a good place if you are working abroad, I've been here twice now and there's always loads of people working from their laptops. I absolutely loved the banana peanut butter smoothie.

My overall favorite cafe. I'd always come here for cakes. They offer one of, if not the best, pastry selections in Dar. ALL of them are tasty. Food quality is satisfactory with many options. As for ambience, it varies depending on when you come. It's a popular spot, so it can be packed during usual dining hours. Still, do come here for pastries. You won't regret it.
