I wouldn’t eat here 😭, but the service was solid and the space is really pretty. Nice spot to work from too in the mornings. My friend and I ordered this waffle and bacon/egg thing and my goodness, it was so bad. The waffle was dense and portions of it seemed undercooked (which is likely because we got really bad tummy aches after) and the cheese didn’t even taste like cheese. Truly unpleasant unfortunately.

Just as good. For all the IG folks, this place is a dream — beautiful views, great light, and so many perfect little spots for photos. It really feels like one of those places where you sit down, take a breath, and just enjoy the moment. I had the poached eggs Benedict with avocado, and it was spot on — fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving (I’m a big avocado fan). Zanzibarista is a nice restaurant located right on Paje Beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania. The location is definitely one of the best things about this place. It is beachfront, so you can enjoy the view of the ocean, the fresh air, and the relaxed beach atmosphere while you eat. One cool and unique feature is that there is sand inside the restaurant. It really makes you feel like you are part of the beach and not just sitting in a regular restaurant. This gives the place a very chill and vacation-style vibe, which fits perfectly with Paje Beach. We had lunch here on both of our days in Paje and everything was fantastic. Recommend to try the tuna bowl as well as the crispy chicken salad if you’re after a lighter meal (although the portion sizes are very good!) or the mixed seafood paella for a sharing meal that can easily accommodate 2-3 people. Staff is kind and helpful. Coffees are also great and the cortado was much needed after some mediocre coffees had in other places! My only suggestion is to get some variety in the music played. 💚
