Beautiful and peaceful family restaurant with good food. We enjoyed the food and almost forgot to enjoy the river view. Food: Grilled river prawns was fresh the meat was sweet. You cut the meat and dip it in spicy seafood sauce and next, scoop the prawn fat and pour it on the warm steamed rice, then eat them altogether. Your will have wide eyes and big smile on your face. Stirred fried crab meat with yellow curry powder was savory and tasty as the crab meat was sweet. Deep fried sea bass with two kinds of sauces: sweet & sour and black pepper was good as the dish is made for both grown-up and children. You can try mix those two sauce together and discover the new taste. Last, seafood mix Tom Yum was surprisingly amazing as all the strong flavors were exploded in my mouth after one sip. We were looking for a restaurant near that outlet which was our main purpose of travelling and chose this charming wooden restaurant by the river. It is very local without English on their menu but photos are available. I have been to this place for more than a few times. This is one of the hidden gems in Baan Poh, Chachoengsao. The restaurant is located on a huge piece of land, right along the river. Why do I recommend this place? The atmosphere. Being along the river gives it a very scenical view of the sunset. It has got a very (surprisingly) clean, air-conditioning toilet and a karaoke room if you book in advance. The parking space is more than enough, and other activities available on the establishment are enough for the whole family to enjoy. The kids can choose to play in the open playground or feed the animals in a mini petting zoo. I personally like the mini zoo as they have got very tame budgies that you can feed inside the aviary. Other animals available are sheep, rabbits, fish, goose, chicken, and ducks. If you are into fishing, there is a giant seabass fishing pond where you can fish and buy the fish. They cook it for you after. The best part is you get to choose a few menus from 1 fish.

The restaurant has a nice view of the river. My friends and I went for lunch. It took us one hour drive from Bangkok. We made reservations for the grilled river prawn and we were not disappointed. The prawn was fresh and grilled perfectly. I say Chachoengsao can be the next stop for one day trip. No need to go have river prawn in Ayutthaya. As for other menus that we ordered, we think the food was a bit mild and we didn’t like it as much. But I still like the restaurant vibe and I think it’s a place you should try visit. Who knows.. the tasting might be your favorite.
