We chose Punjab Grill at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi for an important family occasion — my wife’s birthday dinner with our three young adult children — expecting an evening that would justify both the restaurant’s reputation and its premium pricing. In fairness, the setting itself delivers much of what one would hope for from a luxury dining venue. The ambiance is elegant without being overwhelming, the decor refined and thoughtfully curated, and the service polished, attentive, and genuinely warm throughout the evening. Unfortunately, while the hospitality and atmosphere reflected the standards associated with the Ritz-Carlton name, the food itself did not consistently meet the same level. To be fair, we dined quite late in the evening, after 10 PM, following what was likely a very busy dinner service. Michelin worthy cuisine Deserving of its high ratings and reviews for authenticity and a menu curated superbly to showcase the Chefs talent to take you on a journey through a cacophony of flavours and spices. The choices are amazing and easily worthy of Michelin recognition. The service is amazing with the waiters fantastically trained to help you choose the right dishes to tantalise your tastebuds. Set in the regal Ritz Carlton, you know you are in for a spectacular treat. We took an outside table with lovely views of the fountains and pool grounds. Management deserve special recognition for running a superb operation and staff training to provide a 5 star culinary experience. Bookings are advisable as this place gets very popular with both residents and tourists.
