I visited Spice Takeaway with my mum and we ordered a couple of dishes. The staff told us it would take around 10–15 minutes, but the food actually came out quicker than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the lamb biryani. It was nice and perfectly edible, but it felt like a fairly basic version of a biryani. I’ve had biryani from other places, such as Rickshaw, where the flavours felt a bit richer and more developed. It was my first time ordering from Spice, and the food was delicious. We had korma, rogan josh, and tikka masala — all of them were very fresh, full of flavour, and generously portioned with plenty of meat. I did have an issue with my order, but I have to say the staff were absolutely professional, understanding, and very helpful. We spoke on the phone a couple of times, and everyone I dealt with was friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely order again, but I’ll do so directly rather than through JustEat, which caused the issue in the first place.

I made a huge mistake with my delivery (sent it to work and not home!) contacted Spice and they were ultra helpful in getting the order over to my home. They were very understanding, professional and couldn’t do enough to help get the problem sorted. We have ordered from Spice numerous times and this is the go to choice of Indian takeaway as the food is always delicious and you certainly get plenty in the portion sizes. Thank you so much for being so understanding and also sorry and thank you to the poor delivery person.

I wanted to leave an edit following the initial review I left. I received a phone call the following day from the Manager, Farooq who ho had thoroughly investigated the events surrounding my order and subsequent delivery. Farooq couldn’t be more apologetic and left me satisfied that my complaint had been dealt with satisfactorily.
