My first time visiting The Bedford and I was pleasantly surprised. I met with a friend for a pre event evening meal. The food was reasonably good, however while the souvlaki was nice, for the price, the skewers of lamb were scarce (3 small skewers), too much tzaziki and only green salad. It have been nice to have more salad variety and colour to make the meal less one dimensional. My friend had fish and chips. The chips were a bit overcooked, as was the fish batter. My parents met at the space above the pub (a dance) in 1962. I was born in London and lived in Balham until leaving for Canada in 1975. Always wanted to go to The Bedford Pub and it didn't disappoint. Lots of great drinks, staff and old-timey yet current ambience. Love it there! Photo is with Uncle and Aunt who still live in our old Balham house. Took hubby to see house, pub, relatives and London tourist areas on a recent visit. 🇬🇧🥰

I had the pleasure of attending a live music evening at The Bedford and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful — full of character and charm, and the stage and lighting create a really appealing, intimate atmosphere that perfectly complements live performances. Doorman doesn’t know what he’s doing. Denied entry for being too drunk even though we were going in for our second drink, weren’t able to meet our friends for our birthday. That man has a chip on his shoulder and he’s denying his own business income for absolutely no reason. Really disappointed as was always one of my favourite pubs.
