We stayed in a first-floor pool view room and overall it was a mixed experience. For 2 night across a Friday-Saturday in early July, it cost us £240 and this was the ‘saver rate’ with breakfast. The room itself was a great size and felt genuinely luxe, with a huge bed, very comfy pillows, and cushions and bedding that gave it a polished, premium feel. Great hotel for what you get. There are two swimming pools, the breakfast is good if you're not too fussy, and the staff at reception were brilliant when we checked in. For the price, hotel rooms are not special. For £150 per night the room was smaller than a standard Travel Lodge and not as well equipped. The toilet roll holder was so loose, every time you used it the roll fell on the floor. There was rust on the shower too. On a positive note... the staff were really good and helpful. The food was good as well. Location is just outside the centre but no view from windows.

So this hotel is fabulous - really lovely stay in the North Devon area, felt welcome, staff were great, swimming was great (outside was nippy, but still great) and the breakfast team could not do enough for us, always made us very welcome. The only disappointing thing for me, being disabled, was seeing at times firstly the disabled spots being only 2 at the front - overall i think there was 3 or 4 out of around 60-70 at a guess - definitely feel there should be more. Also a number of times, people parking without a blue badge - there is not enough to deter those across from the bowling alley,
