Really nice homely restaurant. Service was great and food was excellent. I had the Turkey, Ham and stuffing with champ potatoes and veg and gravy, I had it with a lovely bottle of red wine, I thougrouly enjoyed it. I'm not give 5 starts as I didn't like my dessert, I end for apple crumble with custard, but it came in a bowl all as one with crumble over the top. The crumble was more like dust and a buttery sweet toping. I was expecting a slice with a custard side. Just wasn't for me. Still it didn't stop me or my wife from having a great night. Worth a visit.

EDIT sorry but your 5 stars got knocked down to 1 after we booked a table for Sunday lunch - when booking the person dealing was really lovely. That unfortunately is where things peaked. We got ready and came down hungry and excited. No table available for us. No booking. Eventually a clearly annoyed waitress grudgingly offered a table upstairs. Despite me saying I'd ordered one ground floor due to mobility stais to be avoided. Shows the messages. We left. They did try to contact us a bit after we left and layer messaged apologising and offering free meal but the damage was done. It's actually

We have dined here several times and have always had delicious food and exceptional service. Today we ordered takeaway. The food was again delicious and £26 for 2 main meals and 2 desserts was excellent value for money. We will definitely be back (again)

Happened to mention our group of 8 were there for my dad’s 85th birthday and the staff discretely arranged a candle for his dessert and played happy birthday over the speaker, a lovely unexpected touch, thank you! Also special thank you for vegan options for 4 of our group!!!
