York St is buzzing on a warm spring evening and Byzantium had nice Tapas though I've had better, it was great they had gluten free flatbread and a good selection of gluten free options, but the restaurant is sadly let down by it's lighting. If they had better quality bulbs in the lights (warm white, high CRI) and some candles on the tables or wall lights the whole atmosphere would be transformed, but as it was it felt dingy rather than cosy. It was nice they didn't have loud music too.

Called in for an early Saturday meal, they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. The food was fresh and tasty, the unphotographed desserts were equally good. Happy to recommend.

Came in with my friend spontaneously and never have heard of this place before but what a hidden gem!. The food was appropriately portioned and delicious. Nice atmosphere that takes you away from the phone and you can actually chat with friends over food without distraction. Will be coming back🙌
