Great local pub. Staff are friendly, the food is fantastic and the beer selection is awesome. We've been for both Sunday roast and the normal menu (as someone who grew up on the coast, it's hard to find decent fish and chips but the Stamford delivered!) Highly recommend!

It’s been a while since we last visited The Stamford Public House. It’s a lovely spot opposite the church and under a sprawling tree with plenty of outdoor seats - a mix of tables and benches although every time we visit it’s a little untidy and grubby - it needs a little more love. It’s Sunday lunch and we opted for the two course but shared the starter and dessert. There are good options in the menu with veggie and vegan roasts represented well. The Hummus was basic but garnished well, my partners veggie roast was delicious and enjoyed enormously and my fish and chips was of a good stand

Booked dinner on the website in the dining room, showed up and they had no idea that we were coming, put us in the main pub which was incredibly noisy, there are large dogs barking and kids on scooters whilst you’re trying to eat. No one seemed to know what was going on, we were invited to go into the restaurant but ‘no one is in there’ and ‘we’re not serving food’, which is strange to be offered it as we had booked dinner? Disappointing experience as had previously had great experiences here and was bringing family. Ordered an orange and lemonade and was given orange juice and fizzy water. Ch

Awful! The only reason we didn’t complain was the fact my daughter booked it for my retirement and I didn’t want to upset her. The steak you could have soled your shoes with. It came with chips and nothing else, no garnish, nothing! The steak and ale pie was one probably bought from Aldi. In fact, I am doing Aldi a disservice!There was plenty of gravy, very little steak. The salads were good. It was probably the worst pub food we have eaten. Go to a restaurant. It will be far better and far cheaper. We will never frequent this establishment again!
