“Fantastic service, great food and very welcoming staff”

Nice place, with 80s music and laid back atmosphere. Can't book so walk-in only. Warm welcome from the male server but the service from the female staff member was woeful - really blunt and unfriendly I'm afraid. Food and coffee was good though. Had no idea they didn't take card so be warned to bring £cash!

We went for breakfast, order taken promptly and our drinks arrived quickly. Then we waited over 30 minutes and still no food. We realised that two other tables that came in after us by quite a way had all been served so I asked the waitress if it would be long, she said they'd had a large table that had held it up and we'd be next, instead another table who literally had been in five minutes were served. We were now 40 minutes waiting for food and had to be on our way for an appointment. We paid gor the drinks and had to cancel the order.

Was always the place to go knowing you would be guaranteed not just a good meal but service. Seems to have lost its “spark” the past few months. Food quality does not seem as good, very greasy and rushed. My partner said his sausage tasted microwaved. Is like any other “greasy spoon” nothing special compared to many other places on the high street now. Is a shame as I have been using this cafe for many years and always enjoyed the staff and food but after my recent visit I’am looking to go somewhere else down the high street.
