Sadly got rid of most of their manned check outs and the self serve checkouts can be incredibly temperamental. This coupled with not having enough staff around to assist when things inevitably don't work mean the basic act of scanning items and packing a bag can be a drawn out affair.

There's a bunch of expired food on the shelves, or they sell items that are about to expire for a very high price. They intentionally hide the fresh stock with a good shelf life. I used to do my weekly shopping on Fridays, but now the items only last for two days. This makes my shopping incomplete, but I'm not going back there in two days. I'd rather go to another shop with lower prices and fresher food

A place which sells food but like many other places you have to check out your own shopping.. im sorry if I wanted to do that I would of applied for a job at asda. Stop with the self service checkouts and actually employ people.

I prefer shopping at Asda, after years using Tesco. Many benefits, primarily competitive pricing. Clean, tidy supermarket with lots of choice.
