The John Fairweather, first wetherspoons I have gone to and this is my third time here, although the first time I also bought food along with alcohol, and as such I feel it does warrant a review so one can increase his review score because I like doing weird things This is a former theatre and the interior does remind you of that, there are audience "members" (mannequins) above where you'd seat and the whole building is very reminiscent of the early 20th century theatre style, reminding you that yes, you are the main character in your own story so you might as well keep the audience engaged

I usually eat here about 3 times a week. I find the staff good. However a number of weeks ago on a Sunday evening around 5pm when I arrived there seemed to be an IT issue with the screen at the kitchen gantry. Basically it wasn't working. The 2 waiting staff Basically didn't know what to do and Subsequently just kept walking away. Meanwhile the hot food was piling up. To the extent there became nowhere for the kitchen staff to leave the plates. It was busy as there was football on. Lovely staff, nice vintage interior of an old cinema (might need a little touch here and there but has a climate of its own)... Good portions of food in a fair price. Unfortunately wheelchair user might find it really hard to get to the pub us there are only steps and could not find a lift. Another down fold is parking if you don't know the area you might find it harder to find a parking spot especially free of charge.

Arrived 12.15, not particularly busy .Tables not cleared quickly and had dishes on them,,once cleared the table was not wiped so still had wet glass marks and food on table .I moved twice to another table as not clean . I spoke to manager and asked for napkins to wipe it myself. Once food came mine had been sitting on the hotplate and was not warm. My sons was very hot so I assume mine had to wait for his . Bad planning . Coffee machine coffee was not warm. Overall not nearly as good as it has been on previous visits
