I had a really unpleasant experience at Dalston Jazz Cafe last night and I won’t be returning. I’ll start by saying that I did take a puff of my vape inside, which I accept I shouldn’t have done, but the smoking area shuts early. I would have accepted being asked to leave or being told off for it. What I wasn’t expecting was the way the situation was handled. The owner/DJ pretended to dance with me before grabbing my vape and throwing it with full force behind him. When I stepped forward to retrieve it, he physically pushed me in front of a room full of people. It then escalated even further

Hygiene here is off I’ve seen it has a one star rating for hygiene and it makes sense. Food was good until we got fish that was half grey and sour. I was getting pressured to buy a drink which felt terribly awkward(I don’t like alcohol or soft drink but imagine if I was trying to be sober ?). Got gaslight by the server saying we could eat the fish and then he got the chef to come out and he yelled at my brother in law saying ‘do you even know how to eat fish because you obviously don’t eat that part- eat around it”. Confusing and unprofessional. They weren’t reasonable or nice at all. We won’t
