We went to Tilly’s to round out our day, situated opposite a fantastic playground, our hope was that we’d be able to relax with a drink while the kids played. Well - the kids got their playing but Tilly’s left so much to be desired. First, getting served. There was one person in front of us and it took staff around 5 minutes to finish serving them before they could get to us. When it got to us we ordered 4 ice creams - simple order all vanilla with strawberry sauce and sprinkles this was for the children so we wanted them all to be the same to avoid arguments! Greet poor quality. Orderly daily dish of quiche coleslaw and salad at lunch time but they had run out of coleslaw!! The quiche was solid and tasted of cornflour rather than cheese or onion. All very bland. My husband ordered toasted panini and got a squashed baguette and crisps instead of the skin on fries ordered. The coffee was dreadful and the cake was dry. Service was late so l had finished my lunch before my husbands arrived which l we had to chase. All in all a very disappointing experience!

Visited for afternoon tea treat again today. We had a great lunch twice before so had been looking forward to returning and wasn't disappointed. Again very nice selection of food and bottomless americano or tea. Very reasonable value for what you get. The only criticism I had was maybe the quiche, which again had a spongy texture (kind of like the wet cake in a trifle). I still ate it all though so it can't have been a deal breaker! The cakes were really nice and the coffee was lovely. Friendly service and nice quiet spacious venue.
